Mental health, ADHD, and learning disability screenings, delivered in your office
Since 2015, Pedia IQ has partnered with pediatric practices across north Atlanta to provide psychological screenings on-site, in the medical home. Your patients are screened where they already feel comfortable, results come back to you interpreted by a Ph.D. pediatric neuropsychologist, and families get answers without a separate specialty referral as the first step.
Why screen in the medical home
A less intimidating first step.
For many families, "go see a psychologist" is a referral that never gets followed. A screening completed during the course of care at their own pediatrician's office removes the stigma and the logistics barrier. It's a gentle introduction to mental health services, delivered in a setting the family already trusts.
Integrated care, in practice.
Behavioral and mental health concerns may surface first in the pediatric office. On-site screening lets you address the concerns where they present, keeps you at the center of the child's care, and gives you objective data instead of impressions when deciding on treatment or referral.
Efficient for your practice.
The screening is time-efficient and cost-effective for the practice. Testing is administered on-site, interpreted by Dr. Marshall, and the report is sent directly to you.
What the screening covers
Mental health screening.
Standardized measures of emotional and behavioral functioning, including depression and anxiety, providing documentation to support diagnosis and treatment of mental health concerns in the primary care setting.
ADHD screening.
Objective, standardized measurement of sustained attention when ADHD is suspected, allowing you to compare a child's performance against age-based normative data rather than relying on rating scales alone.
Learning disability screening.
Brief measures of intellectual ability and academic achievement to identify whether a learning problem is likely and whether comprehensive psycho-educational testing is warranted.
When screening indicates more
Screening answers "is there something here worth pursuing." When the answer is yes, comprehensive neuropsychological or psycho-educational testing with Dr. Marshall is available as the next step, with the screening data already in hand and the family already engaged. Nothing gets lost between the screening and a full work-up.
